Sunday was a pretty typical Sunday, slow and uneventful with the exeption of one thing, we had to move our VW Golf (it was due for service). The thing is that we haven't actually used the Golf much since we bought the Multivan and by now it was thoroughly stuck in it's place. Eventually it budged and we decided to drive it to the workshop straight away. Having to negotiate rush hour traffic with a car that leaks coolant in the ammount that the Golf does right now was not in my interest so a nice quiet Sunday evening seemed much more appealing.
After dropping off the Golf we went to McDonald's to give the kids a Happy Meal that they "scream and beg for as soon as they see a McDonald's restaurant". When we eventually came home our iPhones chimed, announcing that a new cache had been released in the vincinity GC222JA, both Maria and I scrambled to our computers to see what it was. A new Lhasa Runner mystery! Immediately we went to work (mostly Maria as usual), I only chipped in a few small pieces of the pussle.
At about 23.45 Maria announced that she had gotten a green tick from the GeoChecker which ment it was now my turn to throw myself in the car to see if we could make it to an FTF on this "Super Mystery". At the location I quickly realised where the box was, the question being "How to get it out from there?".. Well I managed and I was greeted by an empty Log Book and two cute little Santas! I quickly put the team rEDdOG stamp in the log book and went back to the car (it was quite cold last night) and headed back home. At about 00.45 I was finally home and could tell Maria the great news.
This morning Maria and the kids had to go back to the workshop to drop of the keys for the Golf so that they could work at it. on the way back the phones start chiming again, another new cache! This time a Campanulas mystery GC224GJ. This mystery was quite a bit easier to crack and it was solved within minutes, I sent a message to Maria that had just returned home. The Kids were quickly dressed again and they were out the door. This time it was a really nice Christmas cache with presents and all! And a new FTF! Now all that remained was taking the kids to daycare and go home to log the new find!
Thank you Lhasa Runner and Campanulas for a fun night and morning!
